Bio
Megan "Ophie" Banks (she/her) is a music educator, performing artist, composer/songwriter, and percussion specialist in the Central Ohio area. She currently serves Columbus City Schools (CCS) as a middle school band and choir teacher, where she has been teaching since 2015-2016 school year. Outside of her work with the CCS district, Megan serves as the Director of Percussion/Assistant Director for Liberty Union High School and as the Educational Specialist for Girlz Rhythm N’ Rock Camp, along with other freelance music-related work including composition, arranging, percussion performance, and private lessons. She also is the leader, songwriter/composer, and arranger for two Columbus-based bands: indie rock/r&b group Made of the Mist, and the Dankkopolis Funk Collective.
